Order describes the sale of Amanda Davis, enslaved woman (15); Joseph Davis, enslaved man (14); Jack Davis, enslaved boy (12). It describes the sale price of said enslaved persons and the distribution of funds received from the estate amongst the various heirs, including Francis Davis.

Gerrard Davis Probate Order to Sell Enslaved Persons Amanda Joseph and Jack (November 1853)
Order reviews documentation regarding the distribution of slaves owned by the estate of Gerrard Davis amongst the heirs of said estate and finds that the remaining slaves cannot be divided fairly. The order grants Amelia Davis two slaves - Henry (21) and Jerry (6) and demands that the remaining slaves - Amanda (15), Joseph (13), and Jack (11) be sold on January 2, 1854.
