Yolanda Harris recollects when the African American community of Pilot Point first heard about an abandoned cemetery, during the mid-1980s, where a horse rancher found his horses being tangled up in vines. This cemetery is known as St. John's cemetery and "Old Slave" cemetery.

St. John's Baptist Church Deed
