- Description
- The Dallas Morning News archives referenced Charles Jourdan shoes specifically sold at Dreyfuss & Sons at NorthPark and Neiman Marcus in Downtown Dallas during the mid to late sixties. Both of these stores provided high fashion selections to the residents of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. In 1967 Neiman Marcus took out an ad in the Dallas Morning News announcing the arrival of Charles Jourdan to the store. The ad focused on an image of the Eiffel Tower, front and center, a sophisticated shoe at its feet, engaging the audience to the elegance of Paris. This image cemented Charles Jourdan a high fashion brand that attracted high-end consumers.
