BURTON, LOUISA (1829-1899): Not much is known about Louisa Burton. According to census records, Louisa was born in South Carolina in 1829. In 1870, Louisa lived in Chambers County, Alabama with her husband, Andrew Burton, and lived next door to her son, John, and his family. Louisa passed away from unknown causes in 1899 and was buried in St John’s Cemetery in Pilot Point. Her tombstone confirms that she was the mother of John Burton, who led a prosperous life in Pilot Point.
